Which universities in Malaysia accept international students?
Most private universities, foreign branch campuses and many public universities accept international students. Our network includes Sunway, Monash Malaysia, Taylor’s, IMU, INTI and Nilai. We help you compare programs that fit your goals.
How do I check that a degree is recognized?
Search the program on the Malaysian Qualifications Register, kept by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). It shows whether a program is accredited. Recognition in your home country also depends on your own country’s rules.
When are the university intakes in Malaysia?
Many private universities have several intakes a year. For example, Taylor’s lists February, April and September for most undergraduate programs. Intakes vary by program, so check each one.
Do I need IELTS to study in Malaysia?
Each institution sets its own English requirement, and it varies by program. IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic and MUET are commonly accepted. You also need an English test certificate for your student visa application.
How much does it cost to live in Malaysia as a student?
Education Malaysia estimates US$50–150 a month for on-campus housing or US$100–300 off campus, plus US$40–65 for utilities and food from about US$3 a day. Kuala Lumpur and your lifestyle can make it more. We help you plan a personal budget.
Can I start in Malaysia and continue at an overseas campus?
Some pathways allow this. Depending on the university and program, students may complete part or all of their studies in Malaysia and, in some pathways, continue at an overseas home campus. Transfer is never automatic, so we check the conditions for each program.
Is the initial consultation free?
Yes. The initial education consultation is free. It helps us understand your goals, explain suitable options and identify whether our services fit your needs.
Do I pay for your services?
No. Consultations, school and university selection, applications and visa-processing help are free for families, because participating schools and universities pay us a referral fee when a student joins them. We recommend from our partner network based on what fits you.
Institutional, government and third-party charges may still apply. Optional services, such as Malaysia settlement packages, carry separate fees, and we explain their scope and fees before you agree.
Can I still contact FPM after I start university?
Yes. During the first semester, we provide essential information and guidance to help students adjust to university and life in Malaysia.
