Curricula explained
Which curriculum
suits your child?
Most international schools around Kuala Lumpur follow one of these routes. Ask how each one leads to the universities your family is considering.
British
The English National Curriculum, with Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE exams at around 14 to 16 and A Levels at 16 to 18.
IB
Four International Baccalaureate (IB) programs from early years to age 19, ending in the IB Diploma or the Career-related Programme.
IEYC and IPC
Some schools teach younger children through the IEYC and IPC frameworks, then move to IGCSE in secondary.
Other routes
A few schools follow American, Australian or Canadian programs. Private schools teach Malaysia’s national curriculum, some with Cambridge options.

How to choose
Six questions to ask
every school.
The best school is the one that fits your child, your home and your next step.
Where next after school?
Match the curriculum to where your child may go to university, and to the final exams those universities accept.
Does it run to age 18?
Some schools stop at 16. Check whether your child can finish sixth form or the IB Diploma in the same school.
How long is the school run?
Kuala Lumpur traffic is real. Choose your home and school together, and ask about school bus routes.
Is there English support?
If English is not your child’s first language, ask how the school supports new learners in class.
What is the full yearly cost?
Add one-off fees, deposits, exams, transport and passes to the tuition before you compare schools.
When does the year start?
Some schools start in August or September, others in January. Places in popular year groups can fill early.

Which curriculum should we choose?
Start with where your child may study next. British (IGCSE and A Level) and IB routes are the most common. We can explain how each one fits your child’s plans.

Can you arrange school visits?
We can help arrange school visits, or video arrangements when visiting in person is not possible, depending on each school.
Can you help with guardian documentation?
Yes. We check student and guardian documents, coordinate translation and notarisation, and guide submission through the school where applicable. The visa outcome is decided by the authorities.
Can you help us settle in Malaysia?
Yes, through a paid Full Care or Practical settlement package. Housing, arrival and daily-life support are agreed before they start.
Is the initial consultation free?
